LG India has been announced to launch a unique smartphone in India, which keeps away Mosquito from us. LG K7i comes with innovative ‘Mosquito away’ technology priced at Rs 7,990, targeted at the mass budget segment. The announcement was made during the ongoing India Mobile Congress in Delhi by the LG. The LG K7i comes with a new rear cover that can be popped onto the back of the device and can instantly turn it into a mosquito repellent.The smartphone is otherwise a budget offering and runs Android Marshmallow.
The Mosquito Away technology as LG calls it, uses ultrasonic sound (30,000 Hz or above) waves to irritate mosquitoes enough to abandon ship. This sound frequency is out of our normal range of hearing which is 20Hz-20,000Hz so you won’t hear the noise.
The LG K7i price in India is Rs. 7,990, and the smartphone will be available across retail outlets in the India. The company has not detailed any launch offers for the smartphone, which will be made available in its Brown colour variant in India.
LG K7i Features
Although a budget smartphone, LG K7i’s highlight feature has to be the ‘Mosquito away’ technology which according to the company is safe and harmless for humans. The rear cover features a speaker that produces ultrasonic frequencies, which the company claims will drive away mosquitoes. Other than this feature, the device is a rather simple device with average specifications. The add-on rear cover gives the LG K7i ability to produce sounds at 30KHz which is harmful to mosquitoes but not humans. LG also point out that its proprietary technology is silent and odourless in nature. The company even provides a separate stand which can be used while the mosquito away feature is activated.

LG K7i specifications
LG K7i supports dual-SIM runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It sports a 5-inch OnCell display and is powered by an unknown quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory and microSD card support. The device is backed by a 2500mAh battery is removable.
The LG K7i comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It features 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, Micro-USB, FM radio, and 3.5mm audio jack as connectivity options. It measures 144.7×72.6×8.1mm and weighs 138 grams.
This is not the first time LG company has come with a product with this so-called mosquito away technology. Last year, LG launched its TV series in India with the same preparatory technology, which acts as a mosquito repellent.
