Ford India has launched a new ‘Sports Edition’ of its new Figo range. Both the Figo and Figo Aspire Sports Editions will be available in petrol and diesel engines based on the Titanium variant.

The new version mostly comes with cosmetic changes. There is a new black fishnet grille, smoked, swept back headlamps, a new bumper with sculpted lines and deep indents on either side of the vehicle for the fog-lamps, which feature black plastic cladding. There is a lot of black treatment, including new 15-inch black alloy wheels, glossy black outside rear view mirrors with turn indicators and a blackened roof. There are also side decals with ‘S’ lettering to highlight the fact that you’re driving a Sports Edition. It is the rear three-quarters of cars that are different from each other. The Figo hatchback comes with a large, roof-mounted spoiler and some decals on the rear bumper. The rear end of the Aspire, on the other hand, remains similar to the regular model.

While most of the interiors are same, there is an all-black cabin with premium quality materials. The Figo hatch comes with red stitching on the upholstery while the Figo Aspire gets grey stitching.

There won’t be any difference in the engines. So you get the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines, which is disappointing. The petrol engine produces 87 bhp and develops peak torque of 113 Nm, while the diesel produces 99 bhp and develops 215 Nm of peak torque. Both feature a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Ford Figo Sports Edition is priced at Rs 6.31 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 7.21 lakh for the diesel variant. The Ford Figo Aspire Sports Edition is priced at Rs 6.50 lakh for the petrol engine and Rs 7.60 lakh for the diesel variant.
