Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra Unveiled in India at ₹ 29,990 with 16-MP Selfie Camera and 6-Inch Display

Sony India launched Sony Xperia XZ Premium in last month, After launching XZ Premium, now the company has launched the Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra smartphone in the country. The Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra has been priced at Rs. 29,990 and is now available via retail stores across the country. The smartphone has been made available in India in Black, White, and Gold colour options. Just To recall, the Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra was first announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, in February 2017, alongside the XA1. The Sony Xperia XA1 is already available for buying in India for Rs 19,990.

Sony India is offering a couple of bundles offers on the purchase of the Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra to consumers. Users who will purchase the device will get a quick charger worth Rs 1,490 bundled inside the box, and they also get a free three-month subscription of Sony LIV. Moreover, you can get a Rs 1000 off on the Style Cover Stand, which is priced at Rs 3,490.  The Style stand cover is available in the market in Black and White colour options.

The Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra is a mid-tier phone with mid-tier specs and a near all-polycarbonate body. The front is occupied by Corning Gorilla Glass while the outer frame is carved out of aluminium. The phone comes with Sony’s characteristic silver round power button on the right is also a dedicated camera shutter key. It does now get a fingerprint scanner though.

Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra specifications

The Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra features 6-inch full-HD 1080×1920 pixels display with Image Enhance Technology. The Device is powered by a 2.3GHz 64-bit MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core processor (quad core 2.3GHz + quad core 1.6GHz) SoC with Mali T880 MP2 900MHz GPU and paired with 4GB RAM. It comes with 64GB storage with support for microSD cards (up to 256GB). The dual-SIM phone runs Android Nougat and supports 4G LTE (also VoLTE). It further comes with USB Type-C for charging and data syncing.

On the Camera Front, The big highlight of Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra, at the rear, there is a 23-megapixel Exmor RS image sensor with hybrid autofocus, 24mm wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture, 5x zoom, and HDR mode. The Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra bears a 16-megapixel Exmor RS sensor at the front of selfies with front LED flash, 23mm wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture, OIS, and autofocus. It also has a dedicated camera shutter button.

The Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra also supports what Sony calls as adaptive charging. The Xperia XA1Ultra uses intelligent charging to prevent battery decline, according to the company. It learns your charging patterns and adapts to them, resulting in up to twice the battery lifespan, it claims.

The phone is backed by a 2,700mAh battery and supports fast charging. It also ships with a Quick Charger UCH-12 in the box. Connectivity options include LTE (4G), LTE Cat6/4, GSM GPRS/EDGE (2G), and UMTS HSPA+ (3G).

Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra will face stiff competition from Xiaomi Mi Max 2, which is priced at Rs 16,999. It comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, and a 5300mAh battery. The phone runs MIUI 8 based on Android 7.0 Nougat.
